What a beautiful day it is in Austin, TX today. I see birds playing in a puddle, strong little wind blowing, and also a car in the middle of my apt street. Weird right? I start walking to my car, and noticed there's no one in there. So I go put my stuff in my car and go back to the unattended car, thinking that maybe someone didn't put their e-brake on and they had a manual and it just rolled out. and WHooOoshh (that's my way of making a wind sound) another strong burst of wind comes and the car starts moving agaim and I'm like, "oh snap!". So I did what anyone else around me would do in this day and age. I took a video of it rolling around LOL. But then I decided to push the car back into the parking spot for the fella and right him a note. So I'm doing that, another car pulls up like it's needing to leave and he sees me pushing this car in the cold and doesn't even come out to help. He literally just waits there til I finish pushing the car back in it's spot. While I'm doing that, a tow truck drives by. Luckily, I had gotten the car in it's spot.
Now at this point in time, the wind is still blowing, and I can't let go of the car because it still rolling. So now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to keep this car from rolling so that I can proceed with my day. So I let go and sprint to my car to try and find something to stop it from rolling and I'm doing this like 2-3 times, because I don't want that tow truck to see the car rolling, but on the last run I was able to grab something to stop the car from rolling but the tow guy does see me and the rolling car and comes over.
He drive by, rolls down the window, and started talking to me.
evil tow man - "Was that the car that was in the middle of the street?"
me - "ummm.. kinda.. why?"
evil tow man - "Well, you did your good deed for the day. I was called here to tow it because it by someone because it was unattended in the middle of the street. Now that it's back in it's spot and staying there it looks like, now I don't have to tow it. Lucky guy."
and then he leaves. That kinda actually made me feel better. Lol Good deeds do make you feel good. So there ya go. My good deed of the day. Saving some kid $234.47 and a trip to the tow yard.
Til tomorrow, I leave this question for my subscribers, "What's your good deed of the day?"
Yup... tow peeps make enough money with accidents and people doing dumb shit like parking in clearly marked "no parking" zones. Good for you for saving someone who made an honest mistake (not pulling the ebrake) from literal highway robbery. Props.
